Kavitha decided to make a shawl with huge garter sections that are lined with tiny bobble stripes. Somehow, the yarn’s texture, colors and these stitch choices turned into a comforting joyous recipe for me at that time in her life.
As she watched the bobbles being formed one by one, they looked like a bed of tiny roses. Hence the name. :)
Rose Bed Shawl is a 2-color shawl worked from the top-down, with its body worked mainly in garter stitch short row wedges. The wedges get stacked slowly, giving the shawl a pleasing crescent shape.
Eyelets and bobbles help break the monotony of garter and also highlight the wedges beautifully. A simple mesh border finishes off the shawl into a light and drapey accessory for your wardrobe.
