"Ikigai" is the Japanese philosophy of having a source of value in one's life that makes everything worthwhile. It's your reason to get out of bed in the morning. Ikigai is often represented as the center of a Venn diagram overlapping what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs and what you can be paid for. Pam Powers from Ikigai Fiber has been fascinated with Japanese crafting for many years and has been fortunate to take workshops on Sashiko, boro and indigo dyeing. Japan has a tradition of handcrafting dating back centuries and the Japanese crafting supplies are sophisticated yet practical. Ikigai Fiber offerings include their own products as well as Japanese imports.
