Pens - Polymer Clay

This unique and original pen has been made using polymer clay canes, which have been created by Canadian artist, Daria Petch. Each colour in the design is a different piece of clay. Daria uses an ancient technique called millifiore to create her canes. Different colors of clay are wrapped and shaped together and then stretched and cut and reassembled and stretched again. Thin sliced of the cane are placed on the pen base, which is then hardened through a baking process. A finishing lacquer is often applied. Each piece is completely handmade. No two are ever exactly alike. Once the canes are used the image is gone forever.
