10/4/22 -- There always seems to be a flurry of activity @ the shop!

Currently we are busy putting together kits and more kits for LYS Day (Local Yarn Shop Day) Sat April 30th. This is a day for us to show off to you all and to say Thank You for being such great customers and supporting us!
New yarns are coming in as well from Bad Sheep Yarn Co located in North Pole Alaska! Can't wait to receive it! Dream in Color will be up for vote as well along with their newest base Riley, single ply worsted, 100% SW Merino - can't wait to try it out!
Additionally crafters have been bringing in new goodies, we received new order of barrettes, and a new line of biscotti - yum!!

3/11/22 -- Not sure where the time goes!

Everytime I turn around it is a new month..... we have been busy working on new offering for classes and workshops - Maers needle felting landscape workshop has been filling so quickly we went from one night to 3! I am sure you all will have fun! If you missed out, add your name to the waitlist and we will see about adding another session.

3/13/22 -- Daylight Saving time begins

Do you have any clocks you don't need to change as you left them, did not change them from the fall time change - in denial? I have one!
To celebrate more sunlight hours, we are offering 13% off yellow yarn - so bright and fun!

Judy from the Elegant Flower will be offering a flower arranging workshop on Wed. 3/23/22 - that should be lots of fun - a bunch of flowers in a vase on the table is always so cheerful - but to be able to turn it into a lovely arrangment - how cool is that? Be sure to register now before this workshop fills - flowers are provided, you just need to bring your scissors.

One of our biggest dilemnas has been the size of our learn to knit waitlist... and finding an instructor who can accomodate the commitment - so our short term solution is going to be to add a ONE MONTH Learn to knit class. Sharon will be offering this class alternately with her sock class - so we will see how that goes. An email will be going out to everyone on our waitlist and then if there is room, we will open the class up to anyone interested.

April 2nd is National Handwork Day Registered in 2017 by Amy Bierstadt and proclaimed as a holiday in 2018, the day recognizes the painstaking dedication that is required to create items by hand. We are going to celebrate by hosting a Fashion/ Show & Tell Show all day! Stop in, show us what you have made, let us celebrate with you! Maybe we should kick it off with Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Friday evening - what do you think?

What else is going to be going on in April? Well firstly, Easter, Sunday April 17th we will be closed, so please plan your shopping accordingly. Then Saturday, April 30th is LYS Day. Mark your calendar and plan to come help us celebrate this fun day! Weather permitting, we will fill our sidewalk with our yarn spinners, and have tons of kits ready to go for you, including, rolling out an exclusive shop shawl pattern, designed by Melani.

1/12/22 -- Whew things are finally settling back to normal

The re-do is done, new inventory has, for the most part arrived and been processed into the system.... new Freia yarn has arrived and after our meeting with Andra (our Berroco rep) today we have lots and lots of great ideas.... mostly for DK yarns..... we are very excited and can't wait to start knitting samples!!

Lots of great new products on the gift side... Naked Bee restocked, fun new puzzles from New York puzzle company, picture frames from Macone, bracelets from Jewels of the Vineyard, and lots more...... evening Drop-ins are starting back up and a couple of knit-a-longs will be added to the schedule soon. We have been doing a lot of brainstorming - 5th Saturday events, Feb 2, 2022) 2-2-22 - what should we do for that? First 22 folks in to make a purchase get a gift?? Mystery boxes - one for Valentines Day..... we are open to suggestions too..... stay tuned

12/17/21 -- Christmas is right around the corner

Are you ready? We still have lots of wonderful handcrafted items from our crafters ready to be snatched up! Stop in or shop online NOW - we will continue to ship but do not guarantee timely arrival of your selections.

We would like to welcome Maer (pronounced like Mary without the y at the end) to our awesome team! She has actually started teaching this month, talk about jumping right in! We are so excited!! She will be offering an ARNO & CARLOS knitted doll workshop in January, mostly knit in ONE piece - so this might be worth checking out!

Speaking of January please note we will be closed Jan 1-6, 2022 for our annual re-do and inventory. Evening classes on Thursday the 6th WILL be held - all others earlier in the week have been cancelled, and back to our regular schedule Friday Jan 7th.

5/11/21 -- Having too much fun

Have I seriously not posted anything since June?? OMG!
We just seem to go from one activity to the next .... and have so much fun doing it all! I truly hope you have been able to join us for many of the events, our Virtual Yarn Crawl, our In-Person Yarn Crawl, our Summer Sidewalk sale!! so much!

Firstly, thanks to Beth and Marla we have the Charity knit/crochet back on the 1st Wed morning of the month! This year we are making hats for sailors on the Carl Vinson - 6000 hats are needed in total (no worries not all are coming from us!) Tuesday mornings, Linda has started up some of her technique classes again, so both the Tues & Wed AM Drop-in sessions have been suspended for the foreseeable future - however we have ADDED a Tues evening Drop-in 6-8PM the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month - hope you can join us!

The biggest new event at the moment is our 12 Day Mystery Box subscription..... register to reserve your box and daily starting Nov 11 our Elf will be sending out an email offering you 2 items for purchase that we will add to your box for you!
We have designed this to have lots of options for you ... purchase Item A, Item B, both if you really like them, if you can't make up your mind (& you don't really want both), let our Elf decide for you, you can also opt out for the day (although we really can't imagine why you would want to do that!) 6.18.21 -- How do you like the changes?

We really wanted to move the Remix - it was tucked in the corner for so long and we think it is such a fantastic yarn that it really, really needed a new home! and now it has one - you should have seen us moving those huge shelf units! Well it was either move them as a unit or move ALL that yarn ..... ah well - it all worked out.

We had such a great time seeing so many of you at Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and Dianne enjoyed teaching a few folks how to knit! Beautiful day, and thank you for joining us!

Once again we are going to host our take on 'Prime Day' - hope you received the email and are as excited about the event as we are - we are going to be holding it on Monday, June 21st from 12-6 - watch for all the emails and the great sales. Perfect time to start stocking up on gifts for the holidays! Didn't get the email explaining the event? Be sure to sign up now for our emails, so you don't miss out!

We wanted to thank those of you who have followed us on our Facebook Live events, we are going to take a short break - but in the meantime, don't forget to stop in to check out all the new goodies!

Beth's Hat Knit-Alongs are going strong - each month she is presenting a new hat with new skills -- the Zoom meetings are free if you purchase the supplies for the hat in the shop.... if you 'stash-dive' for your yarn then the 2-3 week Zoom is just $15 - be sure to register now.

As many of you know, the canopy is back up, social knitting groups have started back up and classes have the opportunity of being held indoors or out. Our shop hours will continue to be 12-6 Mon-Fri & 12-4 Sat/Sun. Although the occupancy restrictions have been lifted, we are still watching the numbers in the shop at one time, and yes, I am sorry to say at this time we are still requiring masks to be worn by customers in the shop. We will continue to require the use of hand sanitizer - and I do not think that will go away, it just makes sense to have folks clean their hands before touching all our gorgeous fibers! How we never thought of that before is a wonder!

4.19.21 -- WOW what an awesome day we had on Saturday

Thank you to everyone who stopped in and those of you who supported us by ordering online! It was a-m-a-z-i-n-g ..... can't thank you enough!

Moving on, Sirdar has a lovely acrylic yarn called Bonus DK - and to help promote the yarn they are starting a Crochet A-Long Blossom Blanket starting this week. It is really cute!! Great for beginner crocheters as well - so we are told. We are just finalizing details with Shaye and will get it posted ASAP .. so stay tuned for details. In the meantime the kits (12 skeins of yarn) will be available starting tomorrow (4/20) at the shop.. and I believe it will be just about $60 or so.

Yes, we are having some beautiful weather but at this point there is still no date on when the canopy will be going up. We will keep you posted!

Beth is hosting the Malabrigo KAL Temperance Shawl and it is going well - I am loving all the colors everyone has chosen! Can't wait to see the finished projects! Speaking of finished projects - how are you all doing on the Cocoknits Franca KAL?? Janet wore hers in the other day - looks like a wonderful piece.

Beth is going to be starting a series of monthly Hat KALs ... starting with the Sunflower pattern that was an LYS Special. More details coming soon.

3.27.21 -- Keeping afloat

In our search to keep us afloat and keep you, our customers engaged, we’ve explored new ways of doing things and learned other ways to reach out and connect. We appreciate your support during this trying time, feel free to reach out with any ideas you have of events/ products you would like to see in the shop and on our calendar!

The Cocoknits KAL with Janet (via Zoom & in-house) ended this weekend - keep knitting for those of you who did not finish - the rest of you - be sure to stop in or post a photo of you and your sweater! Very exciting and hopefully you learned some new techniques.

Speaking of KAL (knit-a-longs) Malabrigo is hosting one for their "Temperance Shawl" knit-along for April and we are thrilled to have Beth back leading this KAL. Malabrigo will be giving out lots of prizes - so be sure to pick up your yarn and get yourself registered!! (we do need a minimum of 4 people to run any of our Zoom meetings/ knit-alongs so be sure to register soon!) NOTE: the first meeting will be Wed, March 31 due to the Easter holidays, all subsequent meetings will be Thursday evenings!

Fiberside Chats have been great fun - I do hope you have looked these over and have signed up to "meet" some of these designers & dyers... a great diversion to your day ... plus the fact that they are sooo inspiring!

2.13.21 -- Intention setting

Intention setting helps us stay focused. Experiments show that when we set intentions, we’re far more likely to follow through on our goals. So what intentions have you set lately? We are very excited to have several of you fill our your Bingo cards and it is great fun to see your excitement when you get to cross off a project!

The Cocoknits KAL kicked off today, both in-house and on Zoom - thanks to everyone who has signed up.

We are happy to say, Berroco has sent us a HUGE listing of back-ordered yarns that will be coming in this week - this has made a dent in our open orders, so if you have something on BO you should (hopefully) expect a call from us this week.

Did you see our unpacking of the new puzzles we have received from Werkshoppe?? The puzzles are created from a variety of artists paintings, a portion of the proceeds goes to helping emerging artists. These are all 1000 piece puzzles.

We also have brought in Friday Socks (mis-matched of course!) on the YARN side as these are made in Italy, not here in the US but we selected these for one of our future Mystery boxes - and of course had to get some for ourselves!! Check them out!

If you are out and about tomorrow (Valentine's Day) we hope you will stop in - we have some fun goodie bags for you from Main Street Bakery here in town. (While supplies last!) Hope to see you then!

1/30/21 -- How has this year been so far for you??

The re-do is done, seems so long ago! New inventory is just about all in-house, now to just get it all into the system. How do you like the website and some of the streamlining? Always a work in progress!
Our annual documentation filming will be Monday morning - so watch online for the new tour if you have not been in - even if you have been in, it is fun!

Thank you to those who took time to take our poll - have you had fun spending your $$? Stacey has shifted her focus to putting together boxes - mystery boxes - we are thinking about quarterly but you never know how ideas/ yarn might "talk" to her. Happiness boxes are also available - you know that 2AM wake up call and you need something to help you feel good? We have them... the items will be the same in each theme but the color/ flavor might be a bit different! Check them out.

We have been having fun looking through the lists of "National Days" to celebrate (please note these are the "fun/ unusual days" NOT our annual 'legal' holidays on the calendar). Ones coming up for Feb include "spunky old broads day" and yes this really is a day!; Lost penny Day, Feed the Birds Day, Walk the Dog Day among others .... we will have something fun going on or to give out on those days! Stay tuned.

Also on the docket are some Knit-a-longs and a great line-up of guests on our Fiberside Chats ... hope you have been able to tune in on some of them, Hanne Dale & Siri Angela Gamborg, Andrea Rangel and Norah Gaughan are upcoming. I am working on a knit plaid scarf following the chat with Carissa Browning ... so much fun! Lining up my next project from the Outlander book after our chat with Barry Klein from Trendsetter Yarn Group - if you could not make the chat, watch the replay - it is up on the site now - great fun!

12/1/20 -- Thank you!

We, at Craftworks, your local Brick and Mortar craft fair and local yarn shop would like to thank the community for your overwhelming support over Thanksgiving weekend. To see so many of you come out to support us was amazing and just warmed our hearts to no end, even brought some to tears! This has given us the energy to continue the battle. Many small businesses, us included need a strong holiday season if we are going to be here next year, due to the financial hit we have taken from the pandemic.

Black Friday has traditionally been a day that big box stores and on-line businesses dump a whole lot of money into advertising and slash prices beyond words to entice you to spend your hard-earned dollar with them. Last year, major retailers spent just over a quarter of a billion dollars on Black Friday ads alone. By contrast, the average small business spends a mere $400 per month on marketing, according to a Chamber of Commerce survey.

What the big boxes/ internet businesses do not do is help the community they service. Small business is what carries the area. We know people by name, your neighbors and your friends and are there for you when you ask for donations and support for your school, church and civic groups.

In-person store limits have slowed down the hustle-and-bustle of the shopping day, but some shoppers told us they are less frantic and are able to enjoy the experience more, either in-store, virtually via zoom (personalized shopping) or online with shipping or curbside pick-up.

We are working on our plan for next year and a few fun events --- it has taken a while to figure out the social distancing, numbers in the shop and zoom as well but we have some great plans coming together so stay tuned!

10.11.20 -- How are you doing?

Loving this fall weather - one part of me hates that time is flying by .... and another part of me can't wait for this year to be over - what a challenge it has been!! Together we will get through this!

We are looking forward to the holiday season! Not quite sure what it will look like but we WILL make it work! Starting with our day of FLASH SALES ... remember this? Every 2 hours we put something on sale, from the yarn side and the gift side so be sure to set your alarms and check out this year's deals! Tuesday October 13th.

Much to our chagrin, all the retail gurus and help groups are telling us to get Christmas/ Holiday goodies out now ..... We are working on it but s-l-o-w-l-y .... and we are not forgetting Thanksgiving! So stop in and pick up something fun!

7.28.20 -- How is your summer going?

What has changed? We are staying open on Sundays for all those enjoying Stay-cations! So stop in between 12-4PM.

6.22.20 -- Thank you to everyone who stopped by for the "Re-opening Tailgate"?

It was wonderful to see so many of you after our quarantine & ALL your AMAZING projects. Congrats to Katie, Lois & Marci - they won the drawings!!

Just a reminder, we do required social distancing (2 arm lengths) the wearing of masks if SD is not possible, and the use of sanitizer by all. The staff & I will be wiping things down on a regular basis, while sanitizing in the evening.

Classes and Drop-ins have started back up again with strict guidelines: if there are 3 or less folks, you have the option as a group to come into the shop, all others need to meet outside under the canopy with the fresh breeze and the fan.

Lori & Sarah have worked hard to get all the shop inventory up on the website. We are continuing to offer online sales and curbside pick-up options. Marsha came in and has created a new Virtual Tour - check it out!!

We continue to receive a number of boxes weekly, wooden puzzles, more shirts from Jess 'n Jane, new yarn from Alegira (Manos), Emma, Berroco & of course Plymouth. All these new yarns have inspired new kits that now available on the website as well ... remember you can always swap out the colors or make up your own kit.

The crisis that we've just gone through is unprecedented, like nothing we've seen in our lifetimes. Now that the pandemic is pretty much in our rear view mirror, it's time to move forward ... and we are going to start with what else but a social distancing party!!

We are going to set up our tent and host a tailgate party....

=> we will be moving racks of our lovely yarn outside for social distancing viewing/ buying

Online sales, curbside pickup and local delivery continue to be options, but if you are inclined to see some familiar faces we hope you will join us.

5.29.20 -- Reopening Information

June is right around the corner …. That means we are getting closer to opening ..…..

We are working diligently towards our Phase 2 opening which is currently set for June 8th. This date is fully dependent on the data trends continuing to move in the right direction. In the meantime, we will continue to ship orders out, do curbside pick-up, and local (Northboro) delivery. Current shop hours are Mon, Tues, Wed & Fri 10-3, and by appointment on Saturdays.

Our goal is to open the store on Monday June 8th, after Governor Baker’s press conference. We will announce our opening status on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages following Governor Baker’s announcement. Once open, we will be maintaining our regular hours: Mon – Fri 10-5, Sat 10-4 and Sunday 12-4. To start, we will not remain open any evenings except for classes.

We will all be wearing masks or shields, and you will be required to wear one as well. We will be able to provide you with a disposable mask if you don't have one, ($1 donation). Cloth ones will be available for sale from our quilters/ seamstresses. If you have an underlying health issue that makes wearing a mask difficult or impossible, we encourage you to shop online or arrange curbside pick-up.

For your safety and comfort, we will be social distancing as much as possible when helping you choose yarn, reviewing your patterns and helping to fix issues with your work. At this time, we are not planning on having one-way directions in the shop, but will limit the number of customers in the shop at one time.

We are in the process of obtaining canopies large enough to accommodate our classes and social knitting outside weather permitting and as you are comfortable attending. Our Zoom social meetings will continue as requested, as will some of our virtual classes/ workshops.

While the CDC recently announced they no longer feel surface to human transfer of the virus is likely, we will be sanitizing high traffic surfaces prior to opening, during business hours, and again after closing. Bottles of hand sanitizers will be located around the shop, you will be asked to sanitize your hands as you enter the store, we will be happy to pump for you should you wish as these are not touchless.

We will accept returns, per our normal policy (they will be quarantined prior to being put back out for sale), we will wind your yarn as needed/ requested, you will be asked to sit outside, or come back later to pick the skeins up.

We miss you all and cannot wait to welcome you back! It is imperative we do so within the guidelines set by Governor Baker as we want all of you and our awesome team to be safe. We will continue to update you as we get closer to our reopening date.

5.24.20 ---- And the Beat Goes On .....?

Well the virus stay-at-home order that is, but the end is coming!! We are still very hopeful that June 8 will be our re-opening ... as long as everyone does their part and the numbers keep declining! As we get closer we will be sending out more info and connecting with folks on our classes - we are all very excited to "resume some normalcy to our day to day".

5.1.20 -- Morning - Happy May!

My how things are a changing .... a whole new way of conducting business... but we are all adjusting!!

A few adjustments we have made: Birthday coupons, can be redeemed through the website - enter the code numbers that are under the barcode. We have changed the expiration to 14 days - the longest the system will allow us to do - HOWEVER we have been able to extend the loyalty $30 coupon out to 90 days - again, if you are ordering online, enter the code number - If you don't have it/ know it call the shop to see if you have one, we will be able to give you the number, or just wait till we open again! We are one day closer ....

I am doing Facebook Live on Mondays and Fridays @ 11AM - I hope you will join me and post a comment! Carol will be doing a Virtual 3D Pet Rock workshop on Friday May 8, 6-8PM - we are testing the waters with this simple project before launching the Knitting Gnome so many of you are waiting for. We are in the shop Mon, Wed & Fri 11-3 filling orders for shipping and curbside - don't be bashful folks .... we are trying our best to be there for you, now and in the future! Appointments are available for "zooming" around the shop if that would work better for you - send us an email info@craftworkscoop.com or give us a call to set one up.

Many of the warehouses are starting to open up and are shipping orders so we expect to be back on track with any special orders you might need. We just received a nice order from Berroco, Plymouth is on its way, and of course Emma has been working her fingers off with new monthly colors and restocking inventory - we have a great selection of her colors. We have also been putting together a number of new kits for you - check them out regularly.

On the gift side, new Windchimes are here and on the website, Naked Bee sanitizer and gift sets of their new scent, Vanilla, Rose & Honey, a great gift for anyone!

I have also been in touch with some new indie dyers to bring in trunk shows - I know it will be tough to feel the yarn but will guarantee the yarn will be up to our standards!

3.18.20 -- Class Changes

Please note as these class changes come in, we will be addressing make-up sessions / refunds/ cancellations etc once things get back to 'normal'.

NEWLY IN: We have just postponed the Cocoknits Sweater workshop that was scheduled Sunday, March 29th.

We will be closing on Sundays starting this week 3/22/1/20.

Carol needs to postpone the 3D Needle Felting Gnome Bunny workshop Thursday March 19th - and no I am not about to try to replace her as instructor!! She is so awesome. Her husband is in the higher risk group and needs to stay home, so she is going to stay close to not bring anything home to him!
We will keep you posted as time goes on.

Sunday 5PM: With the start of allergy season, Mary is going to be postponing all her Crochet classes until further notice.

3.16.20 -- Still open

At this time the shop continues to stay open should you need supplies. We are adhering to recommended hygiene practices including frequent hand washing, and vigorously cleaning of all work areas as part of a commitment to protecting staff and customers.

See the shop ‘blog; page for updates; remember online purchasing is available as is curbside pickup.

With regards to safe distancing, we have brought out the 2nd bigger table so folks can sit a little further from each other should they need help or come to class, and we will limit the number of customers in the shop at a given time.

Please be sure to call the shop prior to heading out for a class to be sure it is being held. At this time Mary’s crochet classes have been suspended, Anne’s knitting classes and Carol’s felting workshops.

Just a reminder that none of our fabulous yarns come from China and the virus does not appear to survive on packing materials so we are happily opening boxes with inventory to restock the shelves!!

We do have online shopping with shipping, in-store pick-up or curbside pick-up so no need to deprive yourself of some great knitting/ crochet time!

3.14.20 -- What a situation we all find ourselves in!

At this time, we continue to keep the shop open, taking advantage of the slow down to restock shelves, and tackle some tasks that have been put on hold these past months!

As many of our classes are very small anyway, they are being held, please use your judgement and do what works for you!

Drop-ins are still on the schedule, many are down to just 1 or 2 folks, but we are happy to see you!

Beth has set up a Ravelry group for the Drop-ins, if you are not comfortable coming into the shop, why not log in and join the group virtually!!

Beth will be monitoring this regularly, but specifically during our regular Drop-in hours.

8.24.19 -- And time marches on

Have you finished your back to school shopping with the kids? Everyone settled into colleges? you getting used to empty nesting? Our grandson arrives this week for a last fling of summer; will be great to see him!
And in the meantime things are flying in the shop --- Cozy Color Works has been packed up, Knitcircus unpacked and oh so inspiring!! Can't wait to get something on the needles with this yarn!

We have been checking in a lot of new goodies from crafters as well - ramping up for fall! (Are you loving these cooler mornings?) A wonderful box from Blue Bus Jewelry arrived and we have been putting some of their jewelry on the website too!
Additionally, we have been busy receiving awesome gifts from our vendors to use for prizes for the Greater Boston Yarn Crawl - hope your calendars are marked: Oct 3 - 6!

8.13.19 -- How is your summer going?

We have been busy, busy in the shop!

I hope you were able to stop in and take advantage of our awesome sale in July that was supposed to be a 1 week sale and turned into a whole month! Cleared a lot of shelf space and made room for some wonderful new inventory.... Dorothy brought in some gorgeous new hand-woven scarves, Sue, her daughter has been having fun exploring the world of nuno (wet) felting and we have a few of her felted bird houses on display - so cute! Journals, barrettes and calligraphy pictures have arrived; Picture frames, new colors of SolMate socks are arriving as are several other new items - can't wait!

Of course we have not be slouches on the yarn side either - Cozy Color Works Trunk show has been a great hit! We will be packing it up to return later this week .... and KnitCircus yarns will be arriving in a couple of weeks - our trunk show for September, luscious gradients! Can't wait! Unfortunately, Vrinda Yarns have had a disastrous issue with one of their milling machines and their trunk show has been pushed out to a later date.

New on the calendar, Berroco's fall yarn tasting in September, Cocoknits sweater workshop and Anne is going to be teaching an Arne & Carlos bird workshop.... lots of great things planned for the fall. Remember we have limited seating so don't wait to register!

6.12.19 -- I am still spinning from the trade show!

Awesome experience as always, took some great classes - connected with some awesome yarnies & other shop owners!
Biggest take-aways were Emma's new mohair dyed to compliment her yarns - we have some great pattern ideas for these yarns!
We brought back some Toft alpaca pompoms - read their story no alpacas are killed for these pelts; also in our bags were some of Bonnie Bishoff stick pins.
Alexandra's sock blanks - also made an impression on us - the yarn is knit on a machine (doubled) and then dyed. You start unraveling the yarn and knit 2 socks at a time which will come out perfectly identical! They are getting scarfed up - No worries about the crimp from the knitting machine these hardly show and will come out once the socks are blocked..... blocked you say - I never block my socks! (or anything for that matter) here is a great article as to WHY you should block your finished items.

Stop in on Sunday during our party to check out all the new goodies! Craft Fair, mini Fiber Fest, Meet & Greet Fishnet Crochet Guild and try a hand at weaving with our Make-it Take-it woven tile project.

6.12.19 -- Have you noticed the website?

Well, I know you are on it reading this ... but we have been busy loading up the yarn shop inventory... needles, some yarns, this is quite a process ..... slowly but surely. If you have any thoughts on navigation please let us know we would love to hear from you and to make this as easy a process as we can!

Have you marked your calendars for our Summer Kick off - on Sunday June 30th, 11-4? We have some Independent yarn folks coming, some of our crafters will have tables out in the parking lot - so a mini fiber fest AND craft fair! Hope to see you there!

4.28.19 -- Wow! What a day we had yesterday!

You are all the best! Thanks to all of you who managed to make it in, and to all our vendors who put together some really great specials! Don't forget to download your patterns if you got some free codes yesterday - some of those expire tonight! and we will not be able to do anything about it except to sell you a copy of the pattern!!
We do have some of the specials available today - just not the "Roulette wheel" and those prizes..... sorry!

So what's going on this week.... Weaving and Fix Your knitted mistakes today, Charity Knitting on Thursday and Drop-Spindle spinning workshop on Friday - Friday is also our WCC Dropin from 5-8PM (Wine, Cheese & Chocolate) so mark your calendars and join us!

4.4.19 -- Have you checked out the website lately?

We have started adding Online shopping for your convenience! It is fun to start this process - but oh.... it is going to take a lot of time! We will be shipping items via Priority Mail - hence the pricing, however you do have the option of picking up in shop - this might be a preferable option for some of those hand-dyed yarns that only come in small batches.... don't wait! In the meantime check out Alexis' monthly batch of "Hydrangea" April 2019.

We hope you have marked your calendars for this Friday, April 5th - our first WCC evening - (Wine, cheese & chocolate) 5-8PM - we hope you will join us for this social knit/ crochet event.

Have you met Sarah yet? We are lucky to have her join our team of instructors and will be well versed to cover both sides of the shop. She will also be teaching, and in fact has covered a few of Shirley's classes while she is out recovering from yet another back surgery. Hopefully this one will be more successful.

March 24th we held a 'Professional Development Day' for our instructors and we all learned how to knit a sweater using the Cocoknits method. Once we formulate our syllabus we will be offering this class. All of our 11 instructors were very happy with the class - so you can expect a lot of sweaters on the class schedules in the near future. It was very exciting.

Many folks have expressed an interest in Rowan yarns, so this weekend, Janet and I will be heading to Philadelphia to a Rowan Yarn presentation. I hope to come back with lots of samples and some great ideas.

3.2.19 -- What a blast we had last night!

A great turnout for our first ever Lock-in / Potluck - and no the doors were not actually locked and a few hearty souls made it till midnight - whew!! Several folks finished some projects: Marci finished up 2 of them; Kate finished her Free Your Fade and Paula finished up several pumpkin hats for the charity sale. Not only did we enjoy some awesome food - Jean came in and showed us how to do some meditation and Tai Chi moves to relax our hands, we played Pass the Pandas and of course had an hourly drawing thanks to donations from several of our vendors. Good time!

Not sure when we will do the next one; however everyone unanimously decided that we do want to have a Friday night Wine/Cheese/ Chocolate Drop-in .... we are going to give it a try - 1st Friday of the month 5-8PM .. mark your calendars and join us!

2.19.19 -- Does all this snow put you back in the mood to knit, knit, knit (or crochet)?

We have some lovely yarns and great patterns - Leading Men Fiber Arts yarns have been returned however we did keep a lovely selection - so if you missed them - no worries we have some!

The new March Calendar has been published and full of great classes & workshops .. starting with our First ever Lock-in/ Potluck!
Friday March 1st 5:30-midnight come join us, door prizes, goodie bags and fun .... what better way to spend a Friday night than with friends and working on finishing some of those projects that have been bugging you? Register now! Seating is limited.

1.31.19 -- You know it! Where has the time gone?

Obviously the beginning of January saw us taking down Christmas and redoing the shop - and I am loving what Carol has done with the new floor plan! A number of new crafters/ inventory items have been put out and of course all our regulars have rotated out their inventory as well.

Some of the new items include: Sven leather bags, Each an Original magnet sets, lots of new journals, some beautiful new quilts, new home decorative painted pieces etc etc. On the yarn side, we launched Sweet Georgia Yarns and the current Trunk Show are yarns from Leading Men Fiber Arts yarn out of IL. They have sent us some fingering weights in cashmere blends, yak blends and some DK. Stop in soon as this trunk show goes back Feb 11. Brigitte and friends have started Follow Your Arrow KAL - all of them are looking lovely and of course each one is different! Technique Tuesdays has been launched.... these workshops (2X a month) are designed to introduce you to new techniques to add to your tool box. Who knows you just might find your new passion!

Jan saw workshops in Color Magic and Double Knitting; Feb 5 will be Brioche, and the 19th Short Rows. Come give these techniques a try! Charity Knit continues the 1st Thursday of the month with a slightly different twist if you will. The theme will change each quarter rather than monthly. This quarter they are working on items for infants/ children. This includes octopus, hats, blankets ... and more! We hope you have found some time to do things you love in life ....
