Knitting: Sock Knitting Basics
Learn to knit a pair of socks with Ann using double pointed needles or magic loop, cuff down or toe up. The first session will cover sock construction, sizing, and gauge swatching in the round. The second session will cover casting on and knitting to the heal. The third session will cover heel and gusset construction. You will learn knitting in the round, short rows, increases and decreases, and-for toe up-Turkish cast on.
Patterns included.
Yarn and needles are not included. You will need one skein(approx 400yds) of sock yarn and either long circular needles or double pointed needles in US sizes, 1, 1.5, or 2 (depending on your gauge). The instructor will have different sizes to try for gauge swatching.
If you want to get a jump on the class, gauge swatch before class-cast on 50 stitches in the round and knit 4 inches in stockinette.

TEACHING STYLE
We want students and teachers alike to have a positive, fun experience. Our classes are small (generally with six students at the most).
We offer classes for every level of stitcher – even those who’ve never held knitting needles or crochet hooks.
IN-SHOP CLASS POLICIES
• We appreciate it when you use Craftworks’ yarn in your classes. Your purchase helps to ensure you have an end product you enjoy and helps to sustain us for years to come.
• Supplies are separate from class fees unless otherwise noted.
• If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, we completely understand! Sometimes things pop up and life gets in the way of our crafting. Cancel prior to class by sending an email to info@craftworkscoop.com so that it can be properly time-stamped.
Eligibility refunds on Craftworks’ classes are as listed:
- At least 72 hours prior notice — 100% refund
- 24 - 72 hours prior notice — 50% refund for store credit
- Less than 24 hours prior notice — Not eligible for a refund.
Student no-shows are also not eligible for a refund or a reschedule of their class.

DISCLAIMER:
Class may be cancelled if less than 3 students are enrolled.
If we cancel the class, payment for your class will be refunded in full or can be transferred to another upcoming class. If we do need to cancel your class for low enrollment, the decision will be made 24 hours in advance and students will be notified by phone and/or email.
Class may also be cancelled for inclement weather or instructor illness, if we do not have an available substitute instructor. Students will be notified by email or phone if this happens and can attend the rescheduled class or have their class fee returned 100%.
