The 'Perfect fit' Sweater

Making Good Choices from the Start
Well fitting sweaters start with making good choices – the size to knit – the yarn to use – and matching the gauge (or not).
This hands on workshop will help you get off on the right foot. We’ll look at clues from the pattern (bust size, finished measurements, ease). How to measure your body and your existing tops to hone in on the correct size to knit; keys to successful yarn substitutions; and my personal favorite, working a pattern in a completely different gauge than the one called for.
Bring:
A pattern you would like to knit
At least two swatches 6”X6” in pattern for that sweater (swatch in the round if the majority of the sweater is done in the round). Do one swatch in the needle size recommended in the pattern. Do the second swatch in a needle two sizes larger.
The ball band for that yarn
Gauge measuring device
Calculator (phone calculator OK)
Measuring tape
A sweater or top that fits you well
Colored markers
Wear a tank or other form fitting top
Pen/pencil/paper for note taking.
