CHARITY KNIT/CROCHET

Thursday 6/7/18, 10:00 - 12:00 or 6:30 - 8:30
Beth & Mary are teaming up to teach some new techniques and help you fine tune your skills while knitting and crocheting hats (and other goodies) for charities.
For the month of June we will be making afghan blocks that Mary will put together into lapghans for hospice patients at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln. Care Dimensions is a hospice residence for adults and children offering the comforts of home with the benefits of hospital-level medical care. On the Waltham town line near Route 128, this recently opened facility overlooks the Cambridge Reservoir and beautiful landscaped gardens.
Yarn requirements for this month’s afghan squares project are: worsted weight; “soothing” or neutral colors have been requested, but the occasional bright is effective too; any fiber type is fine, with emphasis on soft, comforting, and washable; and we’ll accept any size square--yes, Mary’s a little nuts, but it will work! We’ll be using very basic patterns in the workshop, but we’ll also have suggestions for variations if you want to jazz things up a bit.
The workshop will meet twice on Thursday 6/7/18: morning session is 10:00 to noon, and evening session is 6:30 to 8:30, so choose whichever better suits your schedule, or come to both, if you wish! Advance registration is not required.
There will be a Raffle Prize awarded each month. You will receive a raffle ticket for each afghan square (or other designated project) you donate in a given month (that meets the parameters of the month), and the winner will be chosen at the next month’s workshop. We will be awarding our Raffle winner for May's headbands for “Veterans Inc. Women and Children’s Program” at our 6/7/18 workshop.
For more info on Care Dimensions Hospice House or their sister facility, Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, check out their website:

You will receive a raffle ticket for each item you turn in in a given month (that meets the parameters of the month) and the drawing will be held at the following monthly meeting ... come as often as you like no commitment. We hope you will join us!!
