803-misc: Surviving the Ravelry Black Hole

Ravelry is an online community of knitters and crocheters, and a gigantic database of patterns, projects, yarn information and general inspiration.

Jean will help you find your way into Ravelry, discover some ways to make it work for you, and help you not get lost. It's a great way to figure out what to do with that gorgeous hank of yarn you just indulged in, or find an interesting new project or designer whose work you want to explore, and a fabulous way to keep track of your projects and what special information you might want to share with other crafters or keep for your own future reference.

Mary will have a computer to show you around, but if you want to bring your own laptop or tablet so your lesson will be hands-on, that will be even more effective. No, we won't be able to learn everything there is to know about Ravelry in one two-hour session, but you'll get a solid footing, and discover where to find tools to help you learn even more on your own.
