Are you intimidated by written patterns and crochet charts? Did you learn how to crochet from Grandma, but only her favorite memorized stitch pattern, and are without a clue how to apply your skills to that gorgeous crochet pattern you just found on Ravelry?
Have you found some stunning patterns only available in charted form (or in charts plus a written language you don't understand) but you can't figure out how to decode them? Crochet charts help us break the language barrier, and are powerful tools for clarifying complex crochet patterns.
If you've got the key, and know where to start, decoding charts can be a piece of cake! Chart reading is one of the most powerful and liberating tools you can add to your crochet arsenal. Mary will start you out with simple written (in English!) and charted patterns, and we'll see where we go from there.
We won't be learning basic crochet skills in this class -- you are expected to already know crochet stitches like chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, etc., but we will be opening doors to let you take those skills to the next level and beyond!
