Have you checked out the new Periwinkle Sheep yarn that has arrived! The most gorgeous of colors – awesome tonals for spring shawls, and we have a binder of great ideas for gradient sets… ask for it if you don’t see it. The March Calendar is almost ready to be published …. notable classes include:
Knitting Book Camp using Heritage Fiber Publications book. This is a 4 month class that will be meeting twice a month to help you knit with more confidence and help you make your knit projects look better! Graduates say:
- The class is an investment in your knitting. It is well worth the time and effort you put into it.
- This class is a real confidence booster! I am now ready to try new things with my knitting.
- This class gave me confidence to try techniques on my own and the ability to critique my own work. No doubt each of us will move to more challenging projects.
- The class was extremely well organized and full of content. KBC is an invaluable experience. It will totally change your thought process when knitting.
Additional classes include Clapotis Knitted Shawl taught by Rachel our lace instructor. This is a drop stitch done on the bias, a lovely addition to any spring/ summer outfit!
And we have Patty joining our team of instructors with her crochet expertise. She will be teaching a session of Bavarian crochet. Wed March 22nd. Once you learn this lovely unique way to add texture and color to your project, she will discuss lots of project options. Create home decor and fashions using this unique two-round stitch technique!
Janet will again be offering her Weaving Techniques class, Sunday March 5th … take your weaving to the next step and get adventurous!
See you soon!!
JANUARY 23, 2017 —– A whole new week – and I have taken several deep deep breaths — and told myself it is not personal … this was done by someone really sick with no sense of values … talked to the police, got security cameras … and now on to the running of our awesome shop!!
Did you get our newsletter? It went out on Saturday morning … if you did not get it, and would like to, just sign up on any page on the website. The shop is full of lots of wonderful new inventory and we have great classes on the calendar. Check out our new hat/ cowl display!
We received some super bulky Mondo yarn last week, Kim quickly made a lovely cowl – and added a class for kids + to learn how to make these fun, bulky, soft and totally trendy cowls or scarves. Sign up today!
Congrats – 28 of you have redeemed rewards on our new Loyalty Program; it seems to be working well – we hope you are happy with it and looking forward to future rewards!
Thank you again for all your support through last week…..
JANUARY 17, 2017 ….. Thank you, thank you all for the support and words of encouragement …. and a wonderful customer, Naoko who came in with some kimono fabric she got from her mother to help …. so sweet! Thank you!
JANUARY 16, 2017 ….. I sit here with my heart in my throat, wanting to close the shop, wanting to rage ….. our lovely kimono jacket walked today …. my bad as they say – we had it on a mannequin near the door …. where folks could admire it and be inspired by the pattern….. don’t get me wrong, we have had a couple of smaller items walk much to the chagrin of all of us – what makes folks think it is ok? We all work hard, I work 10-14 hour days to keep the shop running …. these are honest crafts people ….. they work hard to make items for the shop – all they ask is a reasonable price to cover the cost of materials and some of their time making the items….. what makes folks think it is ok to take these items without paying???
Now instead of having money to bring in more lovely crafts, we need to spend money on a surveillance/ security system ….. if anyone sees our jacket please take a photo and send it to us, let us know or notify the police…. and if by chance you happen to have it in your possession …. please return it.
JANUARY 7, 2017 –
Thank you all for your patience while we reset the shop! I am sure you will LOVE the new layout! It always feels as though the shop is so much bigger – just more room without the trees to fill with new inventory… AND there is a lot of new inventory.

Once you have that class under your belt, author and instructor Judith Shangold will be here to demonstrate and walk us through tapestry techniques for weaving.
Learn to paint with yarn using tapestry techniques. We usually think of tapestries as densely woven fabrics used for wall hangings and rugs.
However, the same techniques can be used with finer yarns and balanced weaves to create textiles suitable for clothing and accessories. Again space is limited so don’t delay in registering.
Anne will be holding her Fix-it Mistakes class and has added a Beaded Ornament class. This is one of Lynn Wilson’s patterns. Folks will be in awe of what you are able to knit – and fairly easily as well! whip up a couple to give as gifts or for an awesome ornament swap.
